As photographers we naturally have a passion for creating photographic images. We all have different motivations and different notions of what makes the perfect photograph, but we’re all focused on sharing our vision with others through photography.
One of the first things that caught my attention about the “Guide to Digital Photography and Imaging” was that it really isn’t a ‘digital photography book’. Rather, it is a book on photography that happens to have been written at a time when photographers are primarily using digital tools. This is an important distinction. Instead of assuming you know all you need to know about photography and focusing exclusively on the digital elements, this book provides a complete picture of photography in the context of today.
I’m excited to see that photographers are embracing photography as more than just a set of digital tools. We went through a period where photographers seemed to forget about the art of photography to some extent, and instead focused almost completely on what digital had to offer. While digital tools are the new reality of photography, there is so much more to capturing images than simply understanding those tools.
In this book, Gabriel Rifilato puts photography at the forefront. Photographers most certainly need to understand the tools they use, and this book will help you achieve that. But photographers also need to understand the greater context of photography, and the factors that impact their art. In these pages you’ll find the information you need to not just understand digital photography, but to understand photography as a whole.
I know you’ll find this book informative and helpful, and I believe it will help you improve your photography. Non ti conosco, ma di certo so qualcosa di te. Sei uno che ama la fotografia. Questo è il motivo per il quale hai questo libro tra le mani. Forse questo è un nuovo amore, e sei impaziente di imparare il massimo per realizzare le migliori immagini possibili. O forse hai fatto foto da talmente tanto tempo che ora vorresti ampliare la tua conoscenza e migliorarle.
Come fotografi sentiamo naturalmente la passione nel creare immagini fotografiche. Abbiamo tutti motivazioni diverse e nozioni diverse circa quello che rende una foto perfetta, ma per tutti l’obiettivo è condividere il nostro modo di vedere con gli altri attraverso la fotografia. Una delle prime cose che ha richiamato la mia attenzione sulla “Guida alla fotografia digitale e al digital imaging” è stato che, veramente, non è un ‘libro di fotografia digitale’. Piuttosto è un libro sulla fotografia che viene realizzato in un periodo in cui i fotografi usano essenzialmente arnesi digitali. È una distinzione importante. Invece di presumere che tu conosca tutto quello di cui hai bisogno sulla fotografia e mirare esclusivamente agli elementi digitali, questo libro fornisce un’immagine completa della fotografia nel contesto dei nostri tempi.
Sono curioso di vedere i fotografi accogliere la fotografia come qualcosa in più di un semplice insieme di congegni digitali. Abbiamo attraversato un periodo nel quale i fotografi sembravano aver dimenticato l’arte della fotografia, fino a un certo punto, completamente attratti da quello che il digitale poteva offrire. Mentre gli strumenti digitali rappresentano la nuova realtà della fotografia, è necessario ricordare che c’è veramente molto altro per acquisire immagini che non sia la semplice conoscenza di questi strumenti.
In questo libro Gabriel Rifilato mette la fotografia in prima linea. I fotografi, con assoluta certezza, hanno bisogno di conoscere gli strumenti che utilizzano, e questo libro ti aiuterà a raggiungere questo risultato. Ma i fotografi hanno anche bisogno di comprendere il grande contesto della fotografia e i fattori che hanno riflessi sulla loro arte. In queste pagine troverai le informazioni delle quali hai bisogno non solo per capire la fotografia digitale, ma per capire la fotografia nel suo insieme.
