I have never been one to attend lectures/presentations by some of the “modern-day photo-evangelists” as I have never had the desire to be in a room with 200 other people oohing and aahing at the clever tips and techniques being demonstrated on the big screen. I would much rather curl up with the cat and spend the time working through Gabriel’s most comprehensive Guide. Congratulations to him for spending what must have been hundreds of hours compiling all of this data. I wish him every success with “The Creative Digital Darkroom” Project.
It is also humbling to know that I have provided some of the inspiration he needed for his journey into landscape photography.
Come uno di quelli che ha imparato tutto sulla fotografia per esperimento e per errore, specialmente fotografia digitale e digital imaging, ho avuto il desiderio che Gabriel avesse realizzato questo lavoro molti anni prima. Avrebbe risparmiato a molti di noi un sacco di tempo. Sia che la fotografia sia per voi un esercizio spirituale, oppure qualcosa per catturare un attimo fuggente, in questo libro c’è tutto. Di certo lo sosterrò e utilizzerò negli incontri sul digital imaging che fanno parte dei tour fotografici da me stesso guidati.
Non sono mai stato uno di quelli che frequentano gli incontri e le presentazioni di quegli evangelisti della fotografia tipici dei giorni nostri, così come non ho mai provato il desiderio di trovarmi in una stanza con 200 altre persone che fanno ‘ooh’ e ‘aah’ di fronte a bei consigli e tecniche mostrate su un grande schermo. Piuttosto mi rannicchio con il mio gatto e passo il tempo a sfogliare l’esauriente guida di Gabriel. Complimenti a lui per aver passato quelle che sembrano centinaia di ore trascrivendo tutte queste informazioni. Gli auguro tutto il successo con il suo progetto ‘“La camera oscura digitale creativa”.
È anche una lusinga sapere di aver dato l’ispirazione della quale aveva bisogno per il suo viaggio nella fotografia paesaggistica.
